The Special Events Team : Organisors of the Funding Project

The Special Events Team of the Old Boys Association has been in existence since 1996 . This grouping of Old Boys of all age groups has conceived and implemented a number of Projects in aid of S.Thomas’s College and the Thomian community.

Working as a sub team under the umbrella of the Old Boys Association, supporting the efforts of the incumbent Warden, the Special Events Team has been able to marshal the support of the extended Thomain family to finance various projects and has among other projects been responsible for procuring and installing the state of art new Chapel Organ for the College Chapel in 2001.

The highlights of achievement of this body of the OBA, is that a range of events for the 150th Anniversary celebrations of the College were conceptualized and implemented by this Team. The annual service of Remembrance, the Memorial monument and remembrance of Thomians killed in the service of Sri Lanka and the College Museum Project as well as the College History Boards in the foyer of the Hall are also projects initiated by this Team.

The concept underlying this latest Project is to give back to S. Thomas College that has fed, nurtured and made us ….such that future generations of Thomians who are not born even, would be able to serve our College and our Nation by benefiting from the unique facilities that have nourished us.
